Can “Side 1” and “Side 2” please be returned to “Left” and “Right” like the app? Kerning exported from the extension doesn't seem to be compatible with the app, editing the xml to “left” and “right” seems to fix it. And it seems to make the exception chooser have weird names.

left

right
is being replaced by
side1

side2
mainly because there is no implication of a writing direction. I remember this was under debate to change it back. If this changes back, MetricsMachine will change the wording.

The color of your glyph depends on the color of the layer. It should be black as kerning is not separated from layers, kerning is always applied on the default layer.

That sorta makes sense. I imagine there is some deep logic to figure out here. In the mean time, could the wording perhaps match the group editor and exception dialog?

At the moment it's
Side 1 | Side 2
in the group editor, and
Kern 1 | Kern 2
in the exception dialog.
