Anchors added by script not appearing

Hello! I have a script that adds anchors in the current glyph. The new anchors don't show up until I reopen the glyph. I've tried g.update() and g.changed() and neither makes them appear right away. Fwiw they used to show up immediately in previous versions of RF. Is there a solution I'm missing? Thanks!
