Lock offcurve or on curve points when hidden

When I hide the offCurve and onCurve points in the glyph view settings, I can still click on contour parts and modify them by mistake even though they're hidden. Maybe there could be a way to lock the contour, so I can't select or modify it, but I can still see its stroke or fill?

have a look at ContoursLock, it allows you to lock individual contours by index.
